project description
On Laughter-Silvered Wing is an exhibit that celebrates the technological achievements and pioneering spirit of the Canadian Space Program. The name of the exhibit is inspired by the poem "High Flight," written by John Gillespie Magee, a young Canadian pilot during World War II. This poem, famed in aviation circles and beyond, captures the exhilarating freedom of flight felt by Magee during a high altitude flight.
The exhibit aims to educate and inspire visitors by showcasing the rich history and significant contributions of Canada to space exploration. It seeks to connect the poetic aspirations of flight and space travel with the tangible achievements of Canadian engineers, scientists, and astronauts.
